Pattern Drafting Final

Spring 2020

For this project we were tasked with designing a shirt and bottoms from scratch. We started with sketches and a mood board. I was inspired by vintage details, and an idyllic countryside aesthetic. I wanted fabrics that were comfortable, and fresh. The design for the shirt was inspired by Victorian and Edwardian fashion, especially the sleeves. I also just really wanted some over-the-top bishop sleeves. I wanted the overalls to be high wasted, and casually fitted. The shirt is made from a pink fabric that is probably some kind of polyester. I got it in a pre-cut bundle from Walmart. The overalls are made from a forest green linen that is unbelievably comfortable. All the buttons, except the ones on the shirt cuffs, are vintage. On the cuff of the overalls has a tab in which you can tighten the leg down.  All seams were sewn as French seams.
