Me

I am currently a senior at Washington State University. I am finishing up my degree in Apparel, Merchandising, Design, and Textiles with a focus on design. The work I do in school tends to overlap with what I create at home. And while fashion is my focus, I see myself as an artist first before anything else.

I am enamored with figuring out the way things work. How they tick, what they're made of, and how I can try to make something similar. I can get lost in my projects as I try to make them the best I possibly can; little stitches here, a couple of detail brush strokes there. Until it's finished.

The most exciting thing I have discovered through my schooling is finding the way I design. Finding what makes me tick - like my art style, what inspires me, and reoccurring themes in my designs - has helped me find new interests and plan for my future. In keeping this portfolio I have been able see my growth as both a designer and artist, and has been a great tool to figure out what works and where I need improvement.

As for what's next? Who knows. My interests span far and wide, and sometimes even into unrelated industries. I love the idea of creating costumes for theater and other performance arts, but I have also immensely enjoyed designing this website. Whose to say I can't do it all?
